My understanding is that there comes a point where your stealth gets better and better, but is still simply shown as "superb". I doubt you will ever reach the point where you should consider not wearing a stealth item because it won't give you added benefit.

    Some UI suggestions:

I hate having to hit * to see which item/spell to select. Can the game do that for me automatically? Also in some *band hitting space doubled as * in that context, allowing item/spell use to be quicker. That would be useful too.

Also, sometimes I accidentally mispress a key and identify something that's already identified. Can this be disabled so I don't waste ID?

Just popping in to say that the shortage of decent egos and the difficulty of obtaining base resists is pretty much by design. as you get to higher levels, the shortage of double resists and immunities will likely be more of a bane. and then in end game there's.the absence of high end healing...

Agreed, by now I can take them on but when they first appeared I avoided the like the plague

Final thoughts...Their could have been a few better weapons(ego), 75% of what was on the floor was average, 20% was magic or good (+6 +7) stuff with the final 5% being (flamebrand) and (FrostBrand), and some ego bows.
A few levels down (~DL25) quite a few egos drop, very few high level (1 defender + 1 holy avenger so far).

Resistance could have been a little more common, usualy found 1 resist, what would really have helped would have been armours of resistance, or shield of resistance. your getting attacked by every element seems fair to provide resistanced for it, maybe BM, never saw any there.
Resistance is really rare, I've been using a defender and now a robe of resistance but they are the only two objects with base4 that I've found. I agree that it could become a bit more available around the time that Ds start showing up. Before that I think you can survive without it.

This journey could have been best described as pure intense edge of seat game-play. This will challenge even the most skilled angband player.
I agree, I don't know about the skilled Angband players but my games have always been very intense.

So pretty much got instant killed by White Wyrm by breath attack, he popped around the corner breathed=dead.

Some more feedback, Mim with his Acid Ball attack is pretty tough, fought him for a few rounds and then teleported away. Those Chaos Adepts are quite a surprise, one chaos ball hit for 100 points damage and caused life draining, I had confusion resistance.

Ghosts are a nuisnace, they are easily killed but they have a way of popping up around the corner on ya, life draining and stat draining are quite a challenge in this game.

I was really surprised with what you did with stone golems, their no push-over, thank god they are still slow, but tougher than Iron Golems. The Mercury Golems are quite clever, they look just like Iron Golems on the screen but are much harder to kill, I was fighting one before I realized I was fighting it.

The Elementals are tricky, especialy the Air Elemental with the Light Attack that blinds you, and the Earth Elemental that shoots Acid Bolts. But can be shot down easily.

Uvatha The Horesman wasn't that hard, I meeled him and he only dropped me down a level, with his draining attack, but had to phase door a few times and CCW heal up, and then try shooting him to death, He dropped a nice Bastard Sword (Frost Brand).

Cervas The Deranged is one I avoid completly without Rfire I have no chance against him so just tele away.

Also am starting to find a few potions of heal on the floor starting about DL18.

Dreads- In packs they are bad news, they resist cold, so had no advantage with my bastard sword, 1 on 1 I think they can go down without to much trouble/phase door-shooting. But for me they have appeared in packs and seem to take me down about 150hp in a few rounds against just 3 of them so I haven't been able to stand in their for long. I think some sort of HA/SU/SE weapon would probably really help against them

If Uvatha was mediocure, then Adunaphel made up for both of them, Summons/fire bolts/frost/bolts/ and I think maybe Nether bolts? he dropped me to 10 hp 3 times, I then teleported and healed up and he chased me across the dungeon where I was lucky to shoot him with XBow till death.
One problem I had for some reason his grey W icon would completly dissappear for 1 round and usualy I could shoot him with crossbow anyway because I knew where he was standing.then the next round his "W" would pop up again.

I think you've pretty much described Sil.

Dread's are very strong, I had sustain strength, but you want to run when you see them, they will kill you at that level.
Chromatic dragons are meant to be insta-deadly without RBase.

I did wonder if Dreads are too strong, particularly interested in feedback on them.

Feel free to do a bit of judicious save scumming if it helps you explore this depth.

I found a rod of illumination and a rod of detect doors/stairs on DL16, as well as my first stat gain potion, a potion of magic. Things seem to get better if you just push deeper, and find the items that you need to survive. But I agree even with a warrior it's intense. I've had a much funner playthrough with a warrior over the priest.

I don't think the pack size is too big. You get used to the intensive feeling The same goes for stat drainers, I avoid them carefully and shoot'em at a distance. I saw both rod of detect monster (works correctly) and a rod of recall, was that intended, I remember someone saying something about recall not being meant to exist?

I also saw a dungeon book for sale in the book store ('0'), is that intended? It was way too expensive for me to buy at the time anyway...
