Just post threads here and honor the nice r.g.r.a tradition to embed [Un] in the thread topic. If I see a lot of threads about a single variant, I'll create it separate subforum as reward.

The documentation lags behind much more than ever, I guess. Bugginess level nominal. LOTS of new features, I mean, even for UnAngband, so it's pretty UnBalanced. Other than that, pure fun, as long as you can read source code or get game-play help from any other source, e.g. from this forum.
Oh, and the Glorious Maintainer now has a plausible excuse for inactivity, since he's newly and happily married, as is apparent on the forum photo. Surprisingly, he seems to be pretty active. Hmmm...

I'm getting a dig in the ribs at the moment so I'll have to turn in soon
It doesn't help that berios.de is down all the time. But I'm trying to play my own variant more, so will naturally work on the balance side of things + bugginess.
I've always been a new feature kinda guy.
I don't think I'll ever scale to Pernband heights of unbalance however. But I try...

What are the plans about that? Some time ago Sourceforge was also quite fussy; I don't know how it's now. When Un is fully GPLed, Savannah will be an option. Anything else?
If you're interested in becoming an Atheme.org project, I can arrange for hosting and etc. Alternatively, I can set up a Wiki or something on Dreamhost, and we can go from there. [Be warned: I will only install Mantis if you ask for a bugtracker; I hate the rest.]

Hi, and thanks, friendly Brit, for a great variant.
I'm confused, though. I just came back and DL'd this thing to play again after a long time away, and correct me if I'm wrong, but did it change recently? (I'm playing 0.6.0) ... My favorite feature was the ability to alter my weapons with potions and whatnot, but either (a) I'm too clueless to figure out how again, or (b) I'm remembering a completely different variant, or (c) it's been removed. Can anyone clarify? Can I be going senile already? I still get carded for beer!

You need to apply the potion to the weapon. Its either 'y' or '^G' in the roguelike key set.
We're up to 0.6.2 work in progress releases. 0.6.0 is quite old and may not have that feature. The main website (unangband.berlios.de) looks like its up again, so you should be able to follow the links to the downloads from there.
Ah, that is surely it, then. I just picked up mine from a site called Furytech, where 0.6.0 is the most current (non-beta) release. I'll do as you suggest for the most recent.
One further thought: As I'm playing through your WIP, would you find it helpful if I were to take note of any bugs I discover? Or would that be a repugnant nuisance? I acknowledge in advance that nobody's paying you for your labor of love, and I would take no umbrage at all if such reports were ignored, discouraged, spat upon, or whatever. So be honest. It just seems to me like the only available way to do my part for a product I enjoy.
