For what it's worth, here's the character. He isn't epically strong. But his early gear was relatively powerful, making getting to deep levels pretty easy. I finally put down the sling of rPois+rNether at CL45.

Out of curiosity, how is saving throw vs Single Combat calculated? It seems to be around 2/3 for high level monsters, but I haven't been keeping close track.

Roll of monster spell power (which usually means level), if greater than character level the monster saves.

Right, I should have realized the actual success rate is 50%, when the apparent rate is 33%, just like with create stairs.

Book 3 spells are nearly in reverse order of power:
            +AC < +TO_D < *slay demon* < *slay evil*
The latter 2 are also far more useful post stat-gain, when big dice weapons rule. But Enchant Weapon has bigger relative effect early on.

Wiriun is a lot less nasty when you finally realize it doesn't actually move. Besides scumming it, there's just leaving it where it is and fighting somewhere else.

I got lucky--both Wiruin and Boss Q in same lesser vault with a ton of doors and tiny rooms. I managed to LOS both of them without cheesing StM.

How powerful is Paladin? I killed a GWo Chaos with a dagger of Gondolin {ESP} Between heal spell and Single Combat arena, I hardly noticed that it took twice as long as it should have.
Edit: And I also killed Sauron that way. Sigh.

In fact, you do get to see the power of the spell if you go to the "pick an item" menu. I have, though, added the power to the effect description (for examining scrolls).
