      Oh my.
I've been off the yellow brick road all this time.

What's next? I'm probably going to hear something like scroll of trap creation makes traps depending on the level you found it. And if the trap creates falling rubble, that rubble contains level-dependent item from the depth of the scroll. So, I'm just going to assume now that it's better to read a scroll of trap creation in town. Unless ofc, it creates a summoning trap. Yeah... better not to do that. I don't want to kill Feagwath on town level.

Any more news you want to mess my head with?

Feagwath is easy in town. He won't summon any Reavers or Archliches, and now you can make an ASC in the outskirts. And he still will have a DL 90 (or whatever) drop.

how would you summon Feagwath to town, though? 1-in-a-million scroll of Summoning?

              Sky--
No idea. I just decided to play the straight guy.
But I do like the idea of trapped items being related to the drop depth...

                  OK, I'll bite.

This is probably not impossible, but it would take some work. The two most effective means of getting the deepest possible monster in town are:
                  1. Read a scroll of Trap Creation, get a "rune of summon foe", walk into the trap or
                  2. Polymorph a town monster.
These will both aim to get a monster from level 5, with a potential depth boost of 2 - so max level 7. At first glance, we fail, because the shallowest monster that can summon is at level 10. Luckily (I guess), we can continue polymorphing, and the polymorph level is now 5 + (monster level) / 2, with the potential boost of 2, so second time round our deepest possible monster is 5 + 7/2 (=3 because rounded down) + 2 = 10. Continue in this way until you have a deep enough monster to summon Feagwath (note that polymorph doesn't produce uniques).

I would be interested to hear from anyone who achieved this, or failed to in an interesting manner

Now we know how Morgoth created dragons.

Kidnapped orphans and repeatedly zapped them with wands of polymorph

                      always accurate

Are the level feelings always accurate? A few times I'm on a level with -8 but nothing I find seems worthy of that after killing every monster and getting every piece of loot. There are no chests, magic mapped the entire area and also detected treasures in the whole place. DL21.

Level feelings don't apply to monster drops and what comes out of chests and scrolls of acquirement, etc. But at DL21 a high treasure level feeling could easily be a scroll or potion. You may have already used it, or it could have been destroyed, or it could be sitting in your inventory unidentified.

Or it could have been already have been ignored. Like spellbooks.
