If I'm understanding things correctly, when @ has two resistance to an element from equipment or race and has one vulnerability to that element from equipment, the net result is no resistance to that element.
With the same combination of permanent effects (two resistances, one vulnerability) but where one of the resistances comes from a shape change, the net result is resistance to the element: the effects from equipment and race are combined (one resistance + one vulnerability = no resistance) and then the effects from the shape change are added (no resistance + resistance = resistance).
Was it intentional that the effects from a shape change stack that way?
There's little or no effect on current gameplay since pukel-man is the only shape that has a resistance (shards; its poison immunity would stack like any immunity does) and the standard items don't have anything that gives a vulnerability to that element.
