Loving this new version. The food varieties especially are creating a great ambience.

One question... using Shockbolts tiles (Windows version via WINE on Ubuntu) the Assorted Blacklocks and Stonefoots? "Stonefeet!" are still looking like Drow. Is there a way to tweak this to the new Dwarf tiles for the non-technically inclined (ie. UI or simple text edit in a file)?

So now we have to talk about trying to cast spells with a half-cast character. Is this subtle humor from the devs?

All the information about classes, spell books, and spells is in class.txt in the gamedata directory.

Amazing! Thanks so much for all the hard work you've put in, Nick -- you've really made big improvements to the game and I'm already finding new and interesting ways to die!

While we are at it: in addition to "you can read this book" in the 'I'nspect menu, it would make sense to include "you cannot read this book", to avoid all doubts.

No, now half-casters can read only two of the books of their respective realm, with the exception of Paladins that have 3, with 2 dungeon books instead of one (it's not clear to me why they kept so many spells compared to the other half-casters).

Actually, the books for half-casters have the same name as some of those for full casters, but they are completely different books with different spells; and there are no "unreadable spells" anymore.

As a Paladin I can read holy books of prayer, right?
I learn all spells from first book (novice's handbook). After some levelling up I'm able to learn one more spell. I've bought second book (cleansing power) and..it's grey in my inventory and I cannot learn any spell from it.
