    Crafting system

Are there any plans for a crafting system?
For example alchemy for potions, blacksmithing for weapons/armor and inscription for scrolls.

Artifacts should not be craftable in my opinion for lore reasons.

I for one am staunchly opposed to crafting in Vanilla. 98% of crafting systems in videogames just encourage tedium, by giving the player minor advantages so long as they're willing to collect and hoard useless crap. 1% of the remainder has the Sil problem, of making the game impossible to balance, and the other 1% is basically the Teleglitch approach where there's a strictly limited supply of craftables and you choose what loadout you play with by what you make out of the ingredients (e.g. do I use this metal tube to add a barrel to my shotgun, or as a component in my enemy-detecting radar?). That works okay in a survival-horror type game where the player's resources are strongly limited, but it's impossible in Vanilla where there's a limitless supply of resources.

If you want crafting, stick to variants. ToME 2 had the Alchemist class which had crafting. It was also by an order of magnitude the most grindy way to play the game.

I had no plans for crafting even before Derakon stuck his oar in
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
