Got the second, yet another weapon, quarterstaff Nar-i-Vagil.

Nar-i-Vagil looks pretty comparable to the others - I might just drop it.

For example, it does 57 base damage and 79 to monsters without protection from fire, Narathanc does 55 base and 84 without protection from cold.

Not sure why to keep the staff and very full inv...

Found out in that fight Helm Holhenneth has protection from confusion, boy I like that. Long wanted that and think this is the first item I've had that has it.

Finding unidentified potions - seems risky to try them but no room in inv to take them back to identify. I know they aren't nimbleness...

And now, Azog, in a room full of monsters... I don't think I wanna do this.

Phase doored and blessed, Azog came in two turns, he's taken me to 128/226 and I have him down 10%...

Ouch - I did notice a huge difference in damage when wearing it which is why I dropped it.

Armor has resist chaos, that's a new one.

I put it on and trump disappeared from the screen...

Found the mace 'teratol' - not good base damage, but can be activated to haste, and has a new attribute, "slay dragons (powerfully)".

Also found black dragon scale mail, but I'll keep the hard leather armor of himring.

Weightier weapons like Teratol will become powerful once your str and dex are higher, so that you get more blows per turn. Store in house for now. Once you've accumulated several, you can discard the ones that seem like they'll be less useful in the long run.

And if you haven't noticed Holhenneth's activation ability yet, you really should. Rogues have decent native detection abilities, but full detection for no mana is still nothing to sneeze at. This ability makes Holhenneth the absolute best midgame helm for a warrior or divine caster, and still worth using until you find something better as a rogue.
