The horned reaper tramples over Atlas, the Titan...

Dunno, but that's hard to imagine...

They are not. Huan is known to trample many low-level uniques. They just show up again on another level though.

I don't see it the same way as an elemental immunity. Just because one monster is powerful enough, big enough, strong enough, to trample, there's always a bigger, more powerful monster. (Although Atlas isn't a "mob" with trample, this Titan being trampled by a Horned Reaper does sound strange. Maybe it was a very small percentage chance and the Horned Reaper got insanely lucky.)

IIRC trampling depends solely on the monster's level, i.e. their native depth. If the monster in their way is lower-level, then it gets trampled. Horned Reapers have a very high native depth, so they can trample just about anything in the game.

It's actually a straight comparison on base experience for killing the monster, as recorded in the
              Code:
              experience:
line in monster.txt. The actual experience the player gets is
              Code:
(base experience * monster depth) / player level
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.

Huh, interesting. I guess experience is probably a better metric for "how strong is this monster" than native depth.

Well it feels really wrong that Atlas only gives 7k xp when you compare him with everything else at depth 76: master quylthulg 15k, bronze golem 26k, Ungoliant 35k, Great Wyrm of Law 26k...

In fact, looking at all the uniques in monster.txt, Atlas having only 7k xp is clearly a bug. Every unique past 2000ft gives more xp than that. Also one of the most dangerous unique with low xp reward is Kavlax: 3k (7-headed hydra 2k, Uvatha 10k). Should probably been pumped up too.

Must be a recent bug. Atlas is 37k in 4.0.5

Indeed it's 37k. For some strange reason, it is 7k in my monster file. Must have edited it by inadvertance...

Kavlax low experience, on the other hand, is not a bug ... as I foolishly discovered!

Yep. EXP is much more strongly associated with native level than it is with risk. Nalfshanees give more EXP than Kavlax, but are essentially harmless.
