monster-recall information
I believe the color code in the monster-recall window is currently this:
red = no protection / resistance
yellow = resistance present
green = immune or resistance in case of non-basic elements like nether
I am rather sure to have lost characters from single attacks against elements which were shown in green value (because the damage delivered with resistance still was more than the chars maximum HPs were).
So better use this:
red = character can be killed with a single attack of that attack form
yellow = character cannot be killed with one attack, but could take more than 20% of his CURRENT HPs
green = character can only be damaged for less than 20% of his CURRENT HPsLeave a comment:

Im still finding HUGE stacks of very rare items in the black market.
First, when you start the game, the BM is stacked. This isnt a problem, as you dont have any gold. Once it resets it's less stacked, but still.
Items i have seen and/or bought at the BM in one purchase:
13 potions of *heal*
15 scrolls of *aquirement*
21 scrolls of Banish
8 MBan
12 pots of Life ...

target mode / window size
I tried to get myself an overview about which topics / bugs are reported in this thread, but sorry, i failed to do so.
BUG:
The most annoying bug in 4.0.5 version for me is, that if you use target mode (UI-interface options H: Target with Cursor = YES) the cursor is very often not placed at the actual target but somewhere at the bottom of the main screen, presumeably in the status line. That made 4.0.5 un-playable for myself.
FEATURE REQUEST:
And what i think would be a HUGE benefit for new players using a window system (like myself) would be the following feature (which is actually already available, but only for the main window, and not for the terminal windows 1 to 9): If the player chooses a new font size, he needs to manually adjust tile width and tile height. There is already a calculation doing that for the main window ( Window => Term 0 Font Tile Size => Font ). This option would be awesome if also available for windows 1 to 9.

Yeah, the status effects are ridiculous. I found myself (Mage character) blasting monsters with a single ice storm (or sound ball) then going in melee with just shield, and no use of rune. Took out a dragon pit, including three wyrms, with only a handful of CCWs. With Barrukheled.Leave a comment:

Tried to prove a point about how overpowered status effect wands are, but ended up dying to gravity hounds.
Also damn some of those randarts I found.
Seriously though I was killing stuff I had no right to be killing. Fire immunity helped but you can beat anything you can stun in melee. You could nerf stun but I don't think that's the proper fix. Hold monster is as exploitable for ranged combat as stun is for melee.
Also, rods of hold monster seem to not require a recharge period. I think you can hold things that are immune to sleep as well.Leave a comment:
