Could someone spoil me what happens when we kill Sauron?

Providing you're playing standard birth options, then yes - no problem.
You can even bail during the Morgoth fight if you want to (although by the time you might consider that, you've probably burnt through so many consumables that you might be tempted to just carry on and hope for a miracle!).

Ok, so I killed Sauron for the first time. I know that Morgoth has a lot more HP and has a Speed of +30. With stackable speed I can get to speed +31. If I could kill Sauron than I can kill Morgoth, right? Or does Morgoth has *even* more firepower?

Depending on your character he can be pretty tough, he has different abilities than Sauron, keep your HP up have plenty of heal potions and keep hammering away and you should be fine, I'm not going to spoil you on his abilities though unless you really want to know, but I would advise not letting your HP go below 600 if at all possible.

Even if you're playing forced descent you can return to town after Sauron, before you descend to 100.

Morgoth seems to summon more than Sauron.

Morgoth seems to summon more than Sauron.

Sauron has a number of "junk spells" in his repertoire: Blind, Scare, Fire Bolt, etc. His melee also doesn't hurt quite as much (though it's closer than you might think) and he can't bore through walls. Morgoth is definitely a step up, but not a huge step.

Specifically, Morgoth's spell repertoire is very strong. You don't get any free turns, except for the ones where he moves towards you. The weakest spells are brain smashing which you can resist (but if it hits, it's really bad), nether ball, and summon monsters (which sometimes pull up weak stuff). You can meta-game it so that summon uniques is also equally weak, by leaving low level uniques lying about and killing off high level ones, but that feels cheesy to me.

You can meta-game it so that summon uniques is also equally weak, by leaving low level uniques lying about and killing off high level ones, but that feels cheesy to me.

Or you can kill ALL of them, and that doesn't feel cheesy to me at all.

Yep, you get a saving throw. Be a priest or paladin, get a 100% saving throw, never worry about getting every status ailment simultaneously again.

I never thought of a saving throw as being a 'resist'. Semantics, eh?

I'm sure I've had him summon friends and nothing happens (I always kill all the uniques before the Sauron fight - on the very rare occasions I get that far). Is this new or am I going stark raving mad?

For me, Morgoth was much harder than Sauron. He's faster so you get fewer free moves. With Sauron, you can sort of pillar-dance him a bit (I think I could get one free turn in three). Plus like you said, Morgoth seems to summon a hell of a lot more, so you need to use banish or teleport/TO all the time.

You sure like Dwarven priests. Any ideas for the next character?
