I wouldn't do that, it's funnier not knowing what's further down. And if your far enough you can still ask these kind people over there anyways *pointing at angband.oook.cz community*

Is there a monster list for Angband anywhere on the internet so I can research? Please let me know.

Umber Hulks are nasty. They shredded away my Nayru. I was wondering what creatures may dig... a few turns too long.

Hello my good man, yes, I agree, but I bought all the cure critical wounds potions that they had. Right before I closed out of the game last night, I had found my first vault. A bunch of beasts called, Umber Hulks, showed up at the party though and kicked my arse... so I had to flee.

As far as I know enchanting above +9 works rarely enough to be a waste of money.

I think you should carry only one kind of healing potions - the better one of course. It frees you one inventory slot.

Is it possible to enchant my weapons dam more than +10? I seem to be unable to, please let me know.

Goliath, my best character yet. He has come closs to meeting his demise several times, but has managed to survive through each close call! I am chilling around level 21 or so at the moment, trying to get some better equipment/weapons.

    I have a new question.

Does a Ring of Damage increase ranged damage as well? Or only melee?

    Next char.
    Mage.
At the moment I'm crawling at about '300. I'm feeling frail and weak, I can't carry much more than the stuff I carry.
My best mage char - which weren't so hard. All my mages died before clvl 5. The biggest difference to my previous gamestyle is the usage of ranged weaponry.

No need for that. Free Action is overrated; doing without is a good way to learn proper Angband discipline. You don't need to be afraid of those monsters, just be aware of them. Really, getting to 1500' is not hard--just walk down the stairs. It's getting much past 2000' where things get dicey.

If you don't know what monsters paralyze, you shouldn't go any deeper without Free Action. If nothing else, you can wait around until the black market has a ring.

You are already in range of Homunculi (dl 15, but easy to avoid). Carrion crawlers (dl 25), and Ghouls(dl 26) are next.

But Gorgimaera(dl 27), Basilisks(dl 28), Ghasts(dl 30) are the really dangerous ones, because they 'move quickly', so they can surprise you easily. Basilisks and Gorgimaera are not evil, and Ghasts are cold blooded. For the latter, you need to carry a Staff of Detect Evil

At dl 24, you are just in range of seeing out-of-depth Basilisks; Ghasts can still only show up in Vaults.

Anyway, stay away from all of them. They will all kill you instantly in combat, though it's possible to survive down to at least 1600' without it.

After that, heavy hitters like Master Vampires start freezing you with spells from a distance.
