This is something that I did not know. Very good thing to know actually. Thanks for the tip.

You can use monster recall to examine your hit chance against various monsters; in the current nightlies the monster's AC is known as soon as you kill one. The 'I'nspect screen will also take your hit rate into account for displaying damage (i.e. the displayed damage includes crits).

What are the 'nightlies'? I've seen the word a few times and can deduce it is likely the most updated version?

Correct -- once a day, the game is recompiled from whatever the latest version of the source code is. This gets you the latest work, but it may be buggy and/or unbalanced.

...uh, I don't know what the download page's URL is, though. Sorry! I usually pull the source code and compile it myself.

Cool. Well if anyone else knows, I wouldn't mind checkin' 'em out!

New question: I notice many of the more powerful potions (e.g. the Potion of Augmentation I just drank as a Ranger to increase my only two remaining unmaxed stats: CHA and WIS) say that they deal damage when thrown at an enemy.

What kind of damage are we talking? Does it vary between potions? Is it undead type damage?

1d1, I don't know why it talks about damage with those and not others. The only potions that damage on hit are Flask of Oil(not really a potion) and potion of detonations/death(not in the game anymore.

That is pretty lame. So.....New question:

                Plasma and Hellfire.

Is hellfire the same as fire? As far as resists go?

Is plasma associated with nexus or chaos or something? Or is it like a storm of raw magic, unresistable?

hellfire is plasma, which is part fire and part electricity. It is very hard on inventory.

Interesting. It usually destroys everything paper or wood I have. I've never noticed its electric properties however. Good thing to know

Plasma also stuns you; you probably noticed that but I figured I should mention it because plasma hounds can knock you out very easily if you aren't careful.

I avoid Zephyr Hounds at all costs. They have easily been my most common YASD. Except maybe the clear ones.

Some of the deep ones give massive XP, if you have the right resists and are fast enough and can do enough damage.

Chaos hounds, Nether Hounds, and Ethereal hounds have low HP, give big XP, and come in groups. That said, I agree-you should generally avoid them, unless they are in the way for some other good target.

I still remember the first time I mistook a pack of Aether Hounds for Multi-Hued Hounds... I stared at the screen for a good 10 minutes drooling on the keyboard in stupification...

I just realized something. The money mimics (i.e. Creeping Copper Coins, etc) have a tell with the no_selling flag on. Late game piles of adamantium coins with the no_selling flag on are typically about 6,000-8,000 coins, while without this flag on it will usually be under 2,000. As I play with this flag on, I've realized that every time I see a money mimic it's value will be entirely too small. Anybody else notice this?

Not to my knowledge. Good spot - we need to make mimic coin values scale with no_selling.
