I think we should aim for granular class skills not "at clvl30" stuff in general, so I propose if something like this is done that the warrior gets say a 1% less inventory damage per clvl (thus half the inv dmg of other classes at 50).

Then again, codebased, I think all class abilities and stuff should be located in easily edited plain .txt files and not in the hard code, so if possible code it so...

To me it makes sense that permanent resist does provide inventory protection but temporary does not... especially as temporary resist is usually potion based.

I'm not sure about this, because it doesn't really make much sense why a warrior would get automatic backpack protection as they increase in character level. It also doesn't give the player any more strategic choices about what equipment to wear. Is the player happy to avoid any monsters that could damage his inventory now he has several rods of detection etc.

You could give some armour an ability to help protect the inventory, but it also impedes spellcasting making it a good thing for a warrior and a mixed-blessing for a magic type.

Yep it could also be ego/randart power, maybe just for cloaks. Actually I find cloak slot somewhat underwhelming usually, so an ego cloak of elemental protection that gives base 4, activable resistance and inventory protection, make it dlvl 80 native and quite rare ... *drool*
