Argh! Robe of Permanence!

So my priest found a Robe of Permanence at a very early level and my first thought was "awesome!" and then my second thought was "dammit now I'll never convince myself to ever wear any other armor". I have found several nice artifact armors but I can NEVER bring myself to switch to something else.

Can somebody help me with this Permanence addiction? What standart armors should sway me from the warm comfort of the RoP?

It depends upon the random resist, but it could well be what you wear vs M. You will likely want to use Caspanion or Isildur or Celeborn along the way at least for a little while.

Ironically I have since found Caspanion and Isildur but neither has made me feel like jumping out of the nest.

And as Nick said, it's nice and light and slimming, though I now have Remembrance and Restoration, so that might be the kick in the pants I need to branch out and date somebody else.

Caspannion is usually a no-brainer for a priest. You must have a hell of a powerful character, if you don't need WIS or CON.

Fear or light... that's what I usually get... except when there was the bug that always gave it rpoison...

It has Acid, Poison, and Confusion on it. I ended up breathing deeply and solemnly taking off the robe and am using Caspanion since I can restore stats and xp now.

btw I'm playing a half-troll priest, which is why I'm not too concerned about hit points (but still short on mana)

One of the first times I played Angband I found a RoP very early on. I had no idea how rare or how good it was. I went very far with that character. When I started over with a new character I could not believe how much harder it was without that robe!
