Negative character speed

Hi. After some unknown actions my character became very slow (-9).
Very probable, that was started after fight with gelatinous cube.
What can I do to restore my speed?

I don't see anything attached, but speed reduction would happen if you carry too much weight, somehow have a negative -9 speed penalty on your equipment, or get temporarily slowed. Unless you're loaded with loot, you probably got hit with a slow spell which should wear off.

I think once I was slowed because I was starving because I was too clueless to eat.

My sorry, I was overweighted by: Scythe of *Slay Troll* (25 lb), Black Dragon Scale Mail (-2) [12 lb] and Large Metal Shield [12 lb]. For mage that is too much.
I created this topic because of panic: one time Grave Wight touched me and decreased my max hp. Then a died

Running into a Grave Wight is seriously harsh.Losing max HP can feel like... a death sentence, especially when you're not ready for it.If you ever come across one again, make sure you're stocked up on items or spells that can deal with that curse—maybe a Holy Chant scroll or anything that clears curses.

Yes. And that is why I created this topic. I was thinking that Gelatinous Cube has the same behaviour but with max speed.

But now, I'm thinking that it was a bug (Angband 4.2.4):
1. I had a Pair of Iron Shod Boots of Speed [4, +3] <+3>
2. Gelatinous Cube touched me more that 4 times. So, my boots became [4, -1] and speed bonus stopped working. And in this moment I got Slow(-9).
3. To continue playing, I dropped weapon (25 lb), shield (12 lb), scail mail (12 lb) and a lot of other loot. As temp solution I used a Ring of Strength <+3>.
3. During a big time, I drinked a White Potion (You feel very smart! You feel very clumsy. You see no more Potions of Intellect). This potion restored my speed, lol.
4. Now, I can carry weapon (25 lb), shield (12 lb), scail mail (12 lb) and small wooden chest (25 lb) without any slowments.

Your speed boots didnt stop working. I think the -9 comes from: +3 (boots) -2 (weight) -10 (temporary slow effect). The potion of intellect also does in no way affect your speed; it must have been at that time when you drank it that the temporary effect ended.
