My post was along the lines of Buzzkill's point of view (never thought I'd say that ^_^) in that this is a solitaire game. It's a 1-player experience that people can play in any way that makes it fun for them.
To some people, the game is way too hard and they may want to townscum to make it easier. Some people savefile scum for the same reason. Having the savefile be "hot swappable" is due to the way it's programmed. Having store inventory be reset based on the number of turns that go by is also due to the way things are programmed. One may seem more egregious than the other, but the two methods of "cheating" are in the same category.
Personally I really like how Nick added ordering items in FA for those items you use a lot. Kind of adds a feeling of customization to the shops without really adding it.
