Maybe the FGL (first game luck). My first game in any variant is always marked with great early finds...

1) Squelch is much more useful now there is the option to auto squelch, however I would like items marked for squelching to be squelched without having to pick them up first.
2) when you use an un-id'd item that is autoinscribed {squlech} it tries to squelch it even though you have already used it. i.e. "you drink a brown potion, you are confused, you have no more potions of confsion {squelch}, nothing found to squelch."
3) Cloesed & re-opened the game and all the items which had previously been puesdo Id'd had lost their ID inscription when I restarted the game.
4) have the items been rebalanced? as I seen to be finding things alot shallower e.g. robe of elvenkind @ 300ft, potion of constitution @ 400ft, jewel encrusted crown @ 150ft.
p.s. what's the difference between angband-2007-06-28-con.zip & angband-2007-06-28.zip?takkaria whispers something about options. -more-Comment

Yes, we forum people are very civilised - not like those rough, rude newsgroup people
Seriously, though, I think the level of complaint has been about right. Everyone is going to hope the new version changes the things they wanted changed and doesn't change the things they don't want changed, so complaint volume should be basically a function of the number of changes made, not their quality. I think some more gratitude for giving a prerelease was in order, though.
I must respectfully suggest keeping 'n', too, btw.One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne

I'm pretty sure that's a bug, so I created a ticket for it. I certainly can't see where it's gone from a brief look at 3.0.6 and the corresponding areas of 3.0.8. Probably something to do with the new command handling stuff (obviously!)Comment

OK, I think I figured out part of what's going on with the "make install" issue I was having - for some reason I've got the angband executable in the root of my filesystem, along with a lib/apex directory! Why exactly it's there I don't know, but I suppose "make install" put it there instead of in a more reasonable place...You read the scroll labeled NOBIMUS UPSCOTI...
