Does anyone use console mode (on Linux)?

    Hi all

does anyone play in a console (using -mgcu)?

I'm finding that auto-run is stuck on, and I can't see an option to turn it off. Is this some local corruption, or does anyone else experience this?

x11 and SDL2 both work fine - @ does not run unless I press . before the direction.

    Weird.

That behavior is set by lib/customize/keys-gcu.prf and was probably done for the convenience of angband.live. See also https://github.com/angband/angband/issues/5264 . If you used an empty version of keys-gcu.prf (or drop the four lines at the end of lib/customize/pref.prf that include keys-gcu.prf and remove keys-gcu.prf entirely) for the Debian package, I suspect no one would complain.

Excellent, thank you - I shall indeed patch that for Debian users so that the default is to walk.

Just ducking in to say that I too had noticed that console run was broken and had fixed it locally by disabling that file. I do agree that this should probably be the default, thanks for fixing it!

So a pull request to revert that change is up at https://github.com/angband/angband/pull/5764 . If it's accepted and that post-release version is propagated to angband.live, there would need to be adjustments on angband.live to get the expected running behavior.
