    Weird Ring of Speed incident

Just a minute ago, my character was on DL21 and dug through some normal rubble in a normal corridor, and found a Ring of Speed +10. Yet the level was supposedly only a 5-3 level. I've never had anything like this happen to me before. Generally speaking, for DL21, a Ring of Speed +10 would make the treasure level a 9. This was very odd.

Treasure you find by removing rubble or opening chests does not contribute to the level feeling.

Are you sure? I've had levels in the past with very high treasure levels, where the high-power treasure was only in the rubble.

Yes, at least for Angband 4.*, objects found in rubble are only created after the rubble is dug out. They contribute nothing to the feeling which is set when the level is generated.

It has always been this way, I believe.

he is sure. in fact, you missed something on those levels - possibly a AUG or book that was picked up by mob.
Rubble is randomly generated, just like chests. You can test this yourself by finding a room with a bunch of rubble, and scum saving.

It's easy to discard something mundane like some ribbed plate armor +0 or a bunch of seeker arrows +0 early on that would be high level enough to push the treasure level to a high value. Usually I ignore average armor once I get some enchanted part which would ignore those high level +0 armor parts early on.
