    Would you suicide this guy?

Blargh the Dwarf Priest just fell victim to a nasty DEX/STR stat swap. Click here to view dump.
My question is: Would you suicide him or keep going?

I wouldn't, unless I was trying to win with a low turncount.

I would leave the lead-filled mace at home, and go back up to 1700' and look for !STR.

How long did it take you to reach this point [in real time]? How long [in real time] do you think it would take to gather 15 stat potions from here? I'd go with whichever is less.

Your stuff is not particularly good, so you wouldn't lose much by restarting. If you decide to suicide, be glorious and take every stair/trapdoor ASAP and get as deep as you can before you go splat. You might even surprise yourself and survive.

I think I've only played this guy for a few hours, a restart would definitely be faster than repairing the stats through potion-scumming.
I'm going wait a while before making the final decision, but if I do suicide him, I'll use your method.

Edit: I should say that I am not overly concerned with turncount, I'm only really interested in getting another winner.

This thread would be a poll if I knew how.
Anyway, the score so far is 2 votes for suicide by diving, and one vote for actually trying to recover the situation. Any more?

According to stat.spo, you should only need 1 or 2 more STR to be able to wield that mace effectively.

Between that and getting rid of the metal boots, I would think you could be back to full speed.

Something similar happened to one of my heroes recently. I just hunted nexus hounds/vortex until the stats got reshuffled a bit more conveniently.

I tried that recently however it was my Wisdom (worst stat) swapped with my Dex (best stat) and afterwards I saved against every scrambling attempt

Plus, extra WIS increases your saving throw. So nexus tends to increase your WIS at the expense of other stats.

If the high stat ends up as wisdom, you can still find a ghost to drain it down before getting hit by more nexus

...or, since you're a priest, consider yourself a pure spellcaster, OoD orc pits for stat pots, and smile as the extra blows start rolling in.

Until this point, I have been using OoD quite often but also buffed up and done some melee to save on the mana. When I try to play as a pure caster, I tend to run out of mana and die.
