Strange scramble behaviour with maxed stats

Hello Friends!

Have been playing with my Mage (now at level 38) for quite a while now.
Unfortunately I got messed up with some nexus hounds which seems to have scrambled my stats.

After the scramble effect there is an exclamation mark (!) after my STR and INT

This would suggest that my strength and intelligence now is capped. STR at 18/100 and INT at 18/100. I'm a mage and I think my stats where not capped at this level before.

Is this a bug, can I do something about it or do I just have to live with this?

I'm playing 4.2.1.

There is (used to be?) a different version of stats where the racial bonuses just affected starting not max if I recall? Any chance that is switched on in birth options? I think it was maximize stats or something or other called ...

There should be a "Scrambled" notification at the bottom of the screen; this is a timed effect, you just need to wait for it to pass.

Yes. There were a scrambled notification in the bottom. But when it passed my stats of STR and INT where still capped as shown.
Should not a mage be able to have more than 18/100 for intelligence?

The “Self” column is for your stats before race, class, and equipment bonuses are added in, and always caps at 18/100. Your actual stats will be higher/lower, as seen in the “Best” column to the right, or in the stat display in the main screen.

Ok... then this probably was a n00b question from me. Sorry guys.

I guess everything is in order with these cappes stats being an elf mage then?

Yes, although if I were you I'd be looking for a lot more CON from my equipment.

18/80 CON is dangerously low for a mage with 18/100 internal stat. Can you get that up to 18/160+ by adjusting your equipment somehow?

Working on it @Pete. Will stay below 2000' for a while. :-)
