Just looked at the UT32 tileset now... not really sure what you're going to use in there for Cat Warriors, Assassins, and cat uniques. Also, Sil has a lot of balrogs, and they're all pretty distinct -- that was one of the advantages of that other tileset, there were like a jillion dudes on fire in there.

I had a hard time finding good choices for serpents, but i guess even the
normal snake tiles would be OK.

Raukar can probably be selected from random different tiles as appropriate, but it will be hard to thematically associate them, I think.

The rest of the choices look pretty good, though.

Edit: Now I'm not sure what I mean when I say "other tileset". I thought I saw one that was comparatively "serious looking" (one of the balrogs looked exactly like Durin's Bane from the LOTR movies), which was what I was referring to above -- but looking at the Gervais tiles, those are definitely not it.

Edit2: Some great Final Fantasy I influences in some of these tiles lol

Edit3: Which one of these dudes is supposed to be Morgoth????

Oh, wow, people still use my tile picker? I thought everyone gave up on it after browsers started getting excessively strict about XSS attacks on the local filesystem...

I'm inclined to just use warrior-like images rather than focusing on the cat part. I don't remember cat warriors from The Silmarillion so I'll have to rely on the monster.txt description.

I'm assuming based on comments here that there will be a major commitment to getting the 64x64 Shockbolt tiles working. I would hope that some Sil-specific images are added there.

It's been a while since I had an Angband winner but I believe Morgoth is in the row above all the hounds. There are some bipeds to the right of the spiders and yeeks and he's the rightmost one. If I'm wrong I'm sure the first player reaching the throne room will correct me.

I was about to give up until I tried it with Chrome. Firefox and IE kept giving me NaN,NaN as a result. Once I changed the output format to match the values I need for the .prf file it's just pick, ctrl-c, ctrl-v, rinse, repeat. Chrome doesn't automatically put the values in the clipboard but it at least selects them.

I'm sure you're well aware what a PITA it is to count x and y on those teeny images, and I need to do it in hex. Thanks for doing the hard lifting on this.

From NPP. These are the new Sauron/Morgoth. I'm pretty sure Vanilla still uses the old "robes of many colors" Morgoth tile.

Yeah. Drawing stuff is hard. Copy & paste, easier.

Yes, the one I was pointing at was the old Vanilla one. As I said, I haven't had a winner since about 3.0.3. I didn't notice the new things on that row, I thought the big shield was the last image.

I guess the big "M" on his shield is supposed to be a clue. A bit of an egotist, he is.

In all fairness he is "Lord of Darkness", but engraving that much text on the shield would have cost extra.
