ah, yes... i'm not sure if it's intentional, but when you kill a stone creature on the stairs, and you clear the rubble, the stairs won't reappear.

Thanks for the bug reports. I've made a note of all of the above. The rubble on the stairs is definitely a bug!

What's the initial bonus from Bane? I'm considering taking it for V - obviously no benefit from prior kills of that race, but maybe worthwhile?

Thanks . And yes, this is as I try frantically to hurtle down the dungeon faster than HM..

Valarbane isn't one of the options. There's a finite list and there are some other monster types not represented on it (but even if it did include everything you can't take Bane until you have at least 4 kills of the relevant type; the bonus is equal to the log (base 2) of the number of kills).

Wait, why are you fighting Valar? Aren't they supposed to be GOOD guys?
You read the scroll labeled NOBIMUS UPSCOTI...
You are surrounded by a stasis field!

OK, strike that one. Next Valar-fighting Q - does *any* break in attacks cause loss of the concentration bonus? Even if it's because the opponent is reeling?

How do I finish smithing? I'm in the tutorial and it only says what I should do to start smithing and the manual is silent on this.

Once you start, it finishes by itself. Either you complete your work or you get disturbed by monsters - in which case you have to "resume" once you've seen them off. I don't think monsters will attack you while smithing in the tutorial, so I'm a little confused by your predicament.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear, I start the smithing process, go to create boots, create leather boots, create boots of speed and don't get further.
EDIT: Ah, got it. You have to get out and press f) accept.

Yes, it does exist in the game. But, it will be rare to find.

I've come across a bug with the lantern of shadows twice now. I will see a special lantern, wear it, it will identify as a lantern of shadows, but the regular lantern I was using also becomes branded a lantern of shadows with the exact same amount of fuel. Apologies if this has been mentioned previously, or was already known. I did a quick search but didn't see anything about it.
                          You are on something strange

                            Thanks. I'll look into that.

If a weapon "cuts easily through armor" does it do anything other than have a bonus to hit? Also does "draw dangerous creatures to your level" make the dangerous creatures more likely to notice you?

It doesn't give you a bonus to hit (but several of the artefacts with sharpness also have a bonus to hit). It halves the protection roll of things you hit.

                                No.
