Gwarl, new build is up on the nightlies page.

And, a suggestion, take it or leave it as you like:

Take away a small section at the top of the chat box real estate and make it an "auditorium". Instead of "{name} is now watching" message in the chat, just have the name appear in the auditorium.

If I recall, there was a problem with crashes when trying to a deliver a message that a person was no longer watching. It would be really great if the name would just disappear from the auditorium when a person left off spectating, but that depends on whether you're able to squash the crash bug.

Delayed updating the nightly build; apologies for that, having some issues dialing into the server and there's lots of typing/edits that are impossible with the lack of responsiveness.

New feature:
In most cases, you can see the level/race/class people are playing from the watch menu. Thanks to Exo for providing patches for the games to write this info into a file the server can read from. More to come here.

Ingwe, that's a good suggestion, it has made the list of things to be implemented.

Put in a crude way to access poschengband's method of splitting the screen into different panels - the command line arguments it takes are not at all similar to other variants. I think this is textui2? If so, I'll probably be looking to patch it in to all the variants we have on site since despite being fiddly it's far more flexible than the customary method. I'll be adding finer control over the paremeters in the website UI at some point before then.

Something super weird happened. I had to reboot the VPS, and delete all the server code and copy it over from the dev version, but we seem to be back now.

Development has slowed, for the past couple of months it's been a struggle to keep everything updated and in order, but for the sake of planning and accountability here's a shortlist of things that I haven't done yet which are bugging me:

Split the chat window in two vertically, use the top half as a dock for flipping between subscribed games and displaying subscribers to your game.

Buttons to delete a broken savefile or create a backup savefile (but not to restore one).

Playback mode!! There were no notable 210 entries played on the server, but the 208 recordings are still waiting to see the light of day.

IRC backend for the chat.

There are more but these are the priorities.

Wow this is awesome.

FWIW ToME 2.4.0-ah crashes on startup on my Android tablet, not sure why. I'll see if same happens on my laptop. Fonts don't seem to make a difference, at least.

Edit: yep, also crashes on my amd64 Linux laptop.

See here for the issues with ToME (basically multi-user support was removed and forgotten about and we're waiting to have it back)

Oooh gotcha thanks. I didn't realize your server made use of Angband multiuser support, though in retrospect that should have been obvious.
