Hi all again after another few years. :P
Picked Angband up yet again, I am still wanting extended home since I play mainly randart games and I just don't like the gameplay of juggle-my-home, I play for dungeonromps not home management. Sooo I will once again code the extended home for myself.
And then I noticed I still think the trap system is also totally only annoying (for experienced players), not "increasing game depth", since it is just a ^D time and time and time again (my keymap for detect traps). So after a quick extended home, I thought I would re-do also the trap detection stuff removal / changes, probably focusing on the player/trap interaction to be something inline of what you guys have been thinking of doing, so it might actually be incorporated into the main trunk. I'll leave the world changes of the rooms etc. to someone else.
After that, I'll probably do a full class / race / exp bonus balance pass, and spell balance pass. Optimizing / balance is my niche of things I like to do anyways, so yeah I'll dive into that.
After that longwinded re-introduction, what I'm asking is what do you guys prefer at the moment for easy compiling and editing? Are there any "standalone" programs, so I can run everything from my USB stick? (so I can do this at work too easily).
