      Anyone got any thoughts as to end kit for this character (if I'm lucky enough to get that far)?



      She's a shovelling entry for the comp.

      I'm thinking Cubragol and Feanor for the speed, twin RoDams and Fingolfin for the essential plusses to damage. What else?

        You've still got a lot of game to play. I'd wait to see what pops up between now and then. IMO 250 damage is going to be a problem at deep depths because taking forever to kill things drastically increases the amount of damage you take yourself. At least you can easily dig yourself some zigzag tunnels

        Edit: Does Vanilla have any helms with good damage bonuses too? I can't remember if Hammerhand is just OP in *hengband or if that was ported from Vanilla.

          Gorlim. Such character will have to boost damage and speed a ton, while forgetting about resists. This means: Cubragol, RoS with high +, Vilya, amu of weaponmastery (do Elessar still gives +dam, I doubt it), armor with high AC/max resists, any good art cloak, Gorlim, Fingolfin, Feanor.

            Thank you all, but academic now, I'm afraid.
            That'll learn me for thinking about endgame when only halfway through the dungeon!

            Oh well - that was fun.
            I kind of 'felt' that I'd done enough damage to the Death Drake so that his nether breath wouldn't kill me. Turns out I was wrong...

            Sloppy.

            Not sure if I've got the energy for another shovel attempt. I'll have a standard go first to refresh the palate and see.

              Speaking of Hammerhand...Hammerhand did have aggravation in older versions of Vanilla.

                  Comp 156 is over! Congrats to PowerWyrm for taking the top two spots, and to MattB and Thraalbeast for winning. Krazyhades and Jungle_Boy were notable also visitors to DL100.

                  Finally, kudos++ to MattB for his DL65 'shovel only' run
