Hasn't this comp actually been around for about three days by now? I certainly recall finding it quite some time ago.
Shame I have school stuff now, because V appears to be getting balanced and sane, if a bit easier than what I'm used to. I'll probably try a couple runs though. Best of luck to everyone.
That's my fault - I suggested all default options (apart from disconnected stairs), with the thinking that that's the best thing for a "try out the new version" comp. And debo knows a suggestion from me is as good as an order

Oh, I wouldn't say it's easier. A lot of the grindy parts (packs of 25) are gone but there are lots of new and very dangerous threats. (packs of mixed adventurers).
None of the uniques are easier, and now some of them come in groups.

In particular, Mim and his sons are far more threatening together than they are alone. Huan and Charcharoth always show up together, but by that point you really should have some source of Teleport Other.
For the record, I'm used to O. That makes everything easier by comparison. The last V I played at all seriously was 3.1.2v2, or possibly 3.2.0. At that point I just got bored. I'm playing the comp now and it's fun without being annoying. The uniques coming in groups hasn't happened to me. There were two orc uniques in the same room once, and I saw Mim and Ibun separately on different levels. I did bail out the moment I saw either, though.

I also always post the comp char ahead of time in the next comp thread to ask for feedback. You unfortunately missed the boat
How do we feel about using the "game turn" field instead? Or we could just do "winner with most experience" or "winner who kills most uniques" or "winner who strokes debo's ego the most", I'm pretty easy.
Glaurung, Father of the Dragons says, 'You cannot avoid the ballyhack.'
It sounds like the turncount that we're using as one of the success parameters in the comp is getting hosed because of a bug in 3.5.
I think it's OK actually - the ladder works off the Standard Turns in the top part of the dump which is correct. In fact, the bug seems to involve the standard turns being copied to every entry in the player history, so it's like the game's trying to make sure the competition parser gets the message.
