I just successfully picked the lock of a chest, but when I went to open it, it exploded. What's with that?

Actually, that's the way it's always been - traps are only sprung after you unlock the chest. It just means you forgot to disarm it first

My knowledge about programming is limited to a game of Light Bot, but could it be that the savefile is causing this trouble? After all, it is strange that several obvious bugs only got reported after the competition had started.

It's just possible that one or two problems may be caused by the savefile, but most of the bugs I have now found and fixed. It isn't too strange that no-one was reporting 1.2 bugs before, because not many people were playing 1.2, because it was too buggy...

Multiple traps?

The chest trap thing has me completely beaten - there should be no way for that to happen - unless it is a memory corruption issue, which I'm getting increasingly suspicious it is.

I wondered about multiple traps. The first couple of times I found myself surrounded by 3 and 4 traps in every square, after several iterations of their casting, I was taken aback .

Maybe I misunderstood the situation then, but after it happened I went back through the message log to check I had indeed disarmed the chest.

Well, I can't find an error in the code, but that doesn't mean much

I'm just planning to wait and see if the problem turns up again.
