Let me guess, is it because it disturbs you? Come on, it's perfect for you. You have patience, you can use it as an elevator. I don't, therefore I use it when it appears but I try to go to a detected staircase.

I just read your post. If you want someone to notice, put it in one of the O threads, probably this one. Answer: The person who didn't enjoy losing half a day of progress(possibly a whole character, if you play fast) whenever a bug pops up?
Also, what is so annoying on, every 500 turns a random 1/2 second pause pops up? Did it crash the game(which would be ironic)? Or did it provide the 1/2 second pause.

Or didn't. After all, he did turn it off.

You can also just change the frequency of autosave, which makes it less annoying.

I recharged my {empty} staff of perception with the the spell in spell book #2. I know it worked because the XP gained from casting the spell (for the first time) gained me a class level, yet afterwords my staff was still {empty}. This was later confirmed when I tried to use it. What's up with that?

There is randomness in the number of charges you get - sometimes that number is 0. It happened to me quite a lot, too.

I hope that's considered a bug and not WAD. I'd consider 1 buggy too.

Is that a function of the (low-level) spell or are scrolls the same way? Are items with charges harder to re-charge, as in other variants?

On examining the code, I see that those are actually non-destructive failures - mages in O get a big chance of their devices not blowing up on recharge failure.

The chance of success and the number of charges both increase with recharge power, and decrease with the number of charges the device already has. The recharge power varies with the mage Recharge I being the lowest and Recharge III the highest, and Recharge II, other realm spells and scrolls lying in between these.

For more details, see the spoilers.

                            Danger - curses!

I lost my latest effort to a curse from a Giant Paladin. This is the second time I have lost a O/FA spellcasters to exactly that; others have died to curses from a Vampire Lord, Shelob and Ji Indur Dawndeath, to name just the ones I remember.

So be warned - curses can really hurt, and Tinker Bell's saving throw isn't that great.

Player ghosts are stored in the bone folder, right? Is it OK (in comp play) to delete the ones related to dead competition characters so I don't have to keep ducking the ever increasing Tinker Bell Skeletal Army.
