Use the MoD, even with a curse. You'll grow into it, and ESP is huge. You'll want *remove curse* for it though.

Well, I already have ESP with a helm is why I'm on the fence, and the 330 lightning brand is pretty good, too with the scythe of slicing.

This MoD is a fair bit nasty to Undead. I still don't know what the curse is, though. I am hauling all 3 weapons around until I can make a decision. I guess the scythe of slicing should go first.

Between my Über xbow and MoD the Vampire Lord regretted waking up this morning. Here's hoping for a crown of might.

Just picked up a wand of TO (so now I have 2 and 7 charges). Also there's gloves of combat <+2> (+2, +5); kinda tempting but I have a good set of artifact gloves, though they have no to dam bonuses.

And no time too soon on that wand of TO. Immediately after getting it I chased after Wren the Unclean nearby and he decides summoning a great storm wyrm is reasonable for his power level. Well okay, then.

Geez, my luck continues. Decided to take on that Storm Wyrm since I stumbled upon him again after teleporting away from him; I was still ?Blessed so I said what the hey hasted self. Connect rate wasn't great, he breathed lightning, halfing my Hitpoints and destroying my ring of strength <+3> I !Healed (first one I've used I think) and after he died I killed some stuff and picked up a ring of STR <+5> and 2 !Healings. Gained some XP and improved my holdings; I'll take it!

Umm.... so this is odd: I just noticed that my MoD grants [+20] AC but it is not displayed anywhere on the weapon's description. I don't get where the +20AC is coming from. +20AC is from the curse. Just found a scroll of Identify and weapon gives me more AC and makes me conduct electricity.

Yikes! You were lucky to survive. That's full strength electricity damage from a GSW, potentially 1600 dam at full strength. So ignore my idea of using it. I was thinking Siren or something. I'm surprised it didn't auto-ID on the first melee attack by the GSW.

Nick, this sounds like a bug!

No, I'm still carrying with me the Dragonbane as a swap for just such occasions. The damage to dragons is really high on the awl-pike so I am keeping it for some time to come. There are dragons everywhere. He was slightly damaged when he breathed and his breath is something like 1053 (at least that's what my lore says, but it got reset when I started playing the dailies so it might not be its full breath damage). I will update Nick in the bugs page.

Not TV. Author of epic fantasy. Ironfist is a character in his "Lightbringer" series. Mostly secondary, though important, but he had a couple of PoV chapters in the most recent book.

My MoD is gaining. I busted the curse, too. =)
              Found boots of speed <+9>
Currently using artifact gloves of power <+3> STR <+4> Stealth, (+3, +3) instead of the artifact gloves of CON/rSound since I picked up rSound with a crown of serenity. Eventually will drop the good spear I found (+32) since the mace is beating it vs evil and Undead. Still useful for dragons, though. Also picked up Telepathy in the cloak slot.

With the spear I'm doing 533 vs Dragons and Undead; with the Mace I'm doing 556 vs Undead and 426 vs Evil. The spear is only 398 vs evil but is 353 vs others and the mace is only 295 vs others. I am glad I didn't drop the mace.

My HP is back down to 634 but seems fine for the depth I'm at (DL64). Been crushing Dracoliches no problem, though I lack rNether.

Decided to take on Ossë, precisely because I don't have rNether. Don't want to be TOing him for the next 35 levels. He was more aggressive fighting than in recent times (I think the last time he didn't breathe once and I took him down at range). This time he kept blasting me again and again despite my +26 speed. His nether breaths were inconsistent; the first one only did like 200something. But one of them did max damage bringing me to 67 health. I used the only Potion of Life I had since it frees up a slot. In addition to that I used 5 !healings and 6 !CCW (for healing, not for curing) I still have 9 !healings so I wasn't too concerned. I think I've used like 1 healing the whole game before this fight, so figured it was a worthwhile risk to inventory. I knew I was near the limit for such an attack, so I wasn't completely surprised but he hit me several times with mana attacks and nether attacks. I fought him with my gloves of CON, and mostly at range. My Umber-lite sure is nice. And it's nice to have him out of the way.

My oh my, Nick, what have you done to the artifact drop rate!

So basically this entire game it's been raining artifacts. I haven't been in a permanent vault in about 20+ levels but I keep getting great artifacts. Kavlax gives the most love on DL72 with an endgame BoC. It has the dice of a MoD and all the good *powerful* slays. Solves some inventory problems, too, since I had rChaos in the amulet slot when I want to wear "Mastery there. Crazy good.

So that BoC is cursed? It has hidden powers, there are no question marks displayed, and surely you've IDed all sustains by now, via rings and amulets?

That's a hell of a Phial. Suspect high end randarts in that slot are unbalancing.

The BoC isn't cursed; just seriously powerful.

I just got the Arkenstone from Atlas: rPois, rChaos, rDisench, pConf, +3 speed. No hLife, but I can get that with one of my cloaks. I have 3 cloaks I am juggling. One sustains DEX and provides rNether, rShards. Another provides rNexus and another <+5> CON <+2> DEX (which brings me to max blows). I guess I'll drop my rods of mapping now. I am 108lbs overweight. 6 staves of speed. It's so rare I TO anything; I just crush everything.

Mapping is more valuable than a third cloak, by quite a bit. Toss the rNexus cloak. +5 CON is way, way more valuable than the rest. You can safely plan on better armor, and if nothing else, a Shield of Preservation or Crown of Might for sustains.

I actually dropped the shield of Preservation because I had a cloak that provided sDEX, but I do prefer the cloak of CON. The only reason I considered dropping the rods of mapping is because I can activate with Arkenstone to show the whole map.

Which should I wield: Heavy xbow (4X) of extra shots (+23, +16) or Heavy Xbow of extra might (6X) (+10, +15)? I find the range on the extra might to be pretty useful.

The difference in to-hit is enough to matter IMO. I'd keep +shots even if ego ammo were not so prevalent.

I'm not sure why {ego} ammo comes into the equation, but I noticed that it does, (seems very odd to me): ego ammo does 1.59 times more damage per round with the extra shots xbow, and non ego ammo does 1.36 times more damage per round. I would have thought that all ammo would do a fixed increase of a little more than 1.5X damage per round. Why does ego ammo do more damage with extra shots?

EDIT: Also found a cloak with quite the activation: rBase, Bless, Berserk. This could be very useful for blasting Sauron with acid bolts and taking on heavy breathers. My current cloak has <+5> CON and restores experience. With CON Cloak I have 1005HP and with the rBase cloak I have 785. Maybe not worth the sacrifice, but I may get CON boosts elsewhere, in which case the cloak would probably be the way to go (my CON! is 18/200 with the CON cloak). Since I picked up a crown of might as a swap with the helm of telepathy I'm wearing, I suppose I could drop my cloak of sustain DEX, though I may want this cloak fighting Morgy since I have CON and STR are sustained with "Weaponmastery and I ditched a Preservation shield I found (which was maybe dumb). sDEX cloak also covers two missing resistances: rShards and rNether, but again, drops me to 785HP. I do have 6 more CL to gain, though.

Since traps are no longer a thing and I have Arkenstone, all the rods of detection are doing for me is detecting monsters, which seems... not all that crucial if I am running around with 1000HP. But I suppose being surprised by Time and Nexus vortices could be annoying (what else can I drop?). I am not using my cold immunity ring much these days but kinda want to save it for Huan. I'm kinda thinking the rBase/Bless/Berserk activation would be nice but at this junction probably should just forgo it. OTOH, seems I should keep only one of the two: Crown of Might or cloak of sDEX since the crown of might is there for sustain.

EDIT: Also found Caestus of Power <+3> (+3, +7) which bests my Caestus of Lohtar <+3> (+3, +3) but the Lohtar proves pStun and +4 Stealth.
