Two of the best artifacts in one DL41 drop

Just had to share my good luck -- I killed the Ant Queen on DL41 and she dropped both the Glaive of Pain and the Boots of Feanor! Here's the ladder link.

I found a couple !Augmentation on this level too. Though I may wait to wield Pain until I have a bit more STR bonus to get more blows and avoid overburden, this is an enormous boost to this character.

Feels funny to be tossing away the Boots of Speed <+10> that I found only a few levels ago, but Feanor totally outclasses them.

On the other hand, because this is my first time playing in years and I'm not used to the 4.2 class changes, if anyone would like to offer advice about spring cleaning my home I'd be happy to hear it.

Speed boosts have diminishing returns. With Feanor, the ring of speed+5 should be replaced. I'd look for a ring of strength, though dam+10 is always fine. Without doing the calculations I would guess Str+4 would be better than dam+10 if it gets you any partial blows, and it's not even a discussion if you don't cover sustain strength elsewhere. Or you could be conservative and use poison resistance all the time.

The biggest change you can make is to carry the rods of slow monster. Use them twice on any difficult foe.

It is worth devoting a slot to carry Azaghal as a swap for fighting fire breathers.

If you are new to current game mechanics, be advised that throwing items are brokenly overpowered. E.g. you often do more damage throwing ego shots compared to firing them from a +5 sling. Inspect any ego item you can throw. You can put a throwing weapon like a spear into the quiver by inscribing it, e.g. @v9 puts it into slot 9 in the quiver.
