A section of the wall falls behind you!

Whelp - can't go up. Can't go down.
    Can't go through it
My phase doors didn't take me out of my section of the dungeon.

Looks like it's game over without dying.

Huh? Blackguard has limited tunneling in book 1.

      Oh sorry - Hobbit Nec.
I've often thought the BG tunnel spell should be a Nec spell. After all, a BG usually can tunnel pretty easily, while a Nec is pretty weak.

Why don't you just ?recall twice? I saw some ladder post by you with forced_descent, but it did not have no_recall. With that combination, you can replay levels as often as you choose.

Nope - running Iron Man - WOR is non-functional (so I do not carry)

Cool. I haven't played Ironman since 3.2. Does deep descent work? I wonder if those would be worth a slot to carry. The reduction in the number of spell books means I no longer have a good feel for slot issues.

Deep descent scrolls are rare; they used to be more common (appearing in stacks) and I have carried them for the purpose of escaping before the change.

I have a suspicion that the decision to make them less frequent might have something to do with a certain screenshot I posted at that time.

I do tend to carry Deep Descent if I can - not necessarily for this situation, but as a slow escape (obviously teleport level is better)
                Also a ring of digging/wand stone-to-mud

This just happened pretty early so I had none.

Really? I must be confused. I thought that, in Ironman, there was a 50% chance teleport level would try to send you upwards and fail.

Currently it checks which directions you can legally go and chooses one of those at random. I'm not sure how long it's been like that, but it certainly was in 3.5.

I downloaded a couple old versions and looked. In 2.9.0 it always failed, and in 3.2.0 it always worked, assuming I read the code correctly.

Well, either I'm rolling really well or it's down - all the time down.

I haven't tried one at level 99 without killing Sauron yet.
