Another day, another dead babble Again, non-standard strategy: Instead of Poison needle, I just used Soulsword and walked into the middle square. The babble blinks most of the time, so on average it only does about 100 damage per round against me, so I heal every other turn or so, and attack the other ones. 25 hits, 498 misses in combat (66 round of attacks), 4.78% hit rate. (I actually went into my history and counted them up!) It definitely healed a couple of times, but I was never in any real danger... as can be seen, I had over half my SP left (Heal 300 only costs 15 SP), and I had a good 30 rods or so in case I needed to rely on Eat Magic. Babble doesn't ever melee attack, and Anabasis gives Fire Immunity + Reflection, so that rules out dual-wielding, but a single Poison Needle would probably have been easier. I had a Blessed Poison Needle with me as a backup, in case Soulsword didn't work. I picked Soulsword just for the +2 attacks, though I suppose I could have gone with Hurin for +3 instead. Seen 1791 times. |
