Finding lots of early nice finds, especially Cambelg and the rod of acid bolts. Fighter gloves? They're great for a mage too as free action gloves giving extra carrying strength and a HP boost. The *slay demon* mace is nice too as it gives me an extra 2 INT. I only kept the scythe to show it off. I won't carry it around, and I'll drop it as soon as I need more space in my home.
I chose Maia race because I had never gotten anywhere with a mage before.
