Not sure why I'm holding onto the Dirk, but its not heavy and I'm not inventory limited yet...

High Elves seem almost too munchkinish to me with all the extra stat points they get, but I'd been playing lots of high perception characters and was getting tired of missing that extra point of strength or wis.

I absolutely hate those open forest levels... most of my characters who live to dl6 die when they hit one of those things.

The staff is definitely more damaging than the dirk even against evil critters.

Yes High Elves are meant to be a bit on the munchkin side. This one seems pretty effective.

Are you using the Slow wand much?

ACtually I've not really tried the want much, but I'm getting to a place where I probably should start thinking about it more.

My battles with big baddies so far have either been to chaotic for me to be able to use it, or having me already effectively faster since my agi is so high...

Which brings another question...

The 'stat gain potions' are really not worth it it seems. You trade one stat for another, plus you get a drain? I thought at first that you just got the drain (which is bad enough in iron games) so that they were still somewhat useful, but as they are, or at least those I've found...

Just a quick update, got the phial, which is always nice, but still needed a couple of restore potions.

And scene!

Dunno what would have helped me.

Umberhulk which started tunneling to me, Neckbeekers (or whatever they are) which started breeding and screaming, elven druid which started stinking, and finally some damn mage unique who started fireballing...

Sometimes I guess you're just screwed :p

The stat swap potions can be useful, especially by the mid game when restore potions are more common. Probably you would only drink them about 1/3 of the time though.

It sounds like a crazy final battle... Good luck next time!
