Plenty of stair scumming - but it was the only way to keep a char like this alive whilst keeping turncount down.

Kit-wise, I have swapped Thalkettoth for Himring, Barahir for Tulkas, Lurunin for Thingol and Cambeleg for Maeglin. This maxes my CON (well over 700HP now) and adds nether and chaos resist and magical mastery at the expense of rConf and 50SP (due to encumberance).

Vecna is no more - which in another big hitter off the list - and Carcharoth has gone to doggy heaven.

I am now at the tedious stage of the game where all I am lacking is speed (and consumables of course). I can't take on Cantoras or Morgoth until I can haste to +30 because a double move could easily kill me with my HP. I am having to scum for GCVs and bubble vaults in the hope of Ringil, a better RoS or better BoS. Dal-i-thalion would also be nice (or Feanor but I still have never ever seen them!).

I knocked off The Tarrasque, the Emperor Q and Wiruin and had my first go at Cantoras... I always forget just how nasty he is - particularly for a Necro whose staple Orb of Death has no effect against the undead. I was hitting him for about 150HP per turn whilst he was doing around 300HP - so considering he has 3000HP to my 750HP it was going to waste all my consumables to try and take him down. I think he is going to have to be left alive if I'm planning on taking Morgy anytime soon...

Morgoth went on a summoning frenzy which is just how a Necro likes it. First off was the dungeon Guardians, but they were banished before getting a move. Only dangerous moment was when ancient dragons including Ancalagon were summoned. I couldn't geno Ds and risk moves by both Ancalagon and Morgoth, so had to Banish Evil which left two greater wyrms. One of them breathed unresisted shards, buy the other just used the turn to move - still I don't think it could have killed me even if it had breathed.

Was well within the million turns I set myself, so very pleased with this one.
