And the well-balanced throwing stuff is excellent; complainer dropped one stack, and some Trickster dropped the second. That's pretty much the only way this character is still alive.

As for direction, I just picked one without looking at the help files and started walking.
I'll go back to take care of Mim once this character is strong enough. For now, the mountains are easier than forest--you can't run away so effectively, but the monsters don't come in huge waves the way they do in the woods.

As for 'insane' I like to keep cl ~= dl. In this game it means stair-scumming and/or using ?Teleport Level and ?Teleport like there's no tomorrow. (Fortunately, those scrolls are as common as ?Phase Door.)
