God this thing feels week. The reduced drops combined with the damage system made starting him painful. Clvl=Dlvl seems the best I can do. While the OAngband rogue looks much like the NPP one in terms of skills, this Character cannot compare to Kelumen at all. He is supposed to be a fast sling shooter, but it depends only on dex. I currently do 1.3 shots a turn with the sling, so the xbow is clearly better. Traps are nice once you get them started. This happens on level20, but unlike in NPP where you get your second Trap for free, you have to use your skill point on it, skipping various other nice skills. The unlight "mutation" the character is cursed with from the start makes exploring a pain until you can get the Phial, as you are stuck with light radius of 1. Makes ranged attack a gamble and trap preparing very difficult. Detect monsters at 1 mana helps a bit, but this one was lucky enough to run into a blessed weapon with ESP on it. Since then things are running are a lot better.
In opposite to monster drops, town has been very nice this far. More or less everything I'm wielding is shop bought, and I defenitly didn't shop scum. But when bosses are reduced to "it may drop 1 good", things simple have to get slowed down.

Anyway, returned from 1800 with an Armor still unid. Checked stores, noticed Ring +6 dex, Elvenking Armor, Res shield for a total of 65k. Meanwhile the unid Armor turned out to be Hithlomir. Was able to but all and suddenly I have res Base, Legendary stealth, 3 blows, 100 def, 2 unknown high resists, and a much better disarming skill that will hopefully make those traps stronger. Also the +6 dex means I now get 1.9 shots per round with the sling, if I had one :)
level 40 is sling of buckland depth... but it doesn't exist in O according to spoilers...

Build a base camp at 4000. Before that I found Tensers in a vault on 3k, Mordencain in a Chest on 3200 and my first ever OAngband ROS. Well, my unlight rarely seemed useful, and her unlight ended my life. Deepest unique kill was something from 3750 I think. Turncount is a scary 3.5m
