Gnome Zerk coming along nicely. Couldn't bring myself to (cheat) with a Spectre and I know it's been done before using a Gnome for the blink ability but I thought it would be fun to try anyway.

Just hanging round the bottom of the Anti-Magic Cave trying to knock off as many uniques as possible. Had a close call with Shuten-Douji when clearing an Ogre Pit there as I didn't realise he was there and I had no healing. As it turned out I took him down to 5 stars when I was down to @300 hps at which point I just kept blinking, quaffing a couple of CCW's then blinkiing again quaffing etc till @400hps then attacking. Even with this strategy he did double move and get me down to 44 hps at one stage but I did manage to take him down. This occured at chlvl 33. Chlvl 34 was when I gained the vampiric Quarterstaff which has made the going much easier (shuten Douji wouldn't have required the blinking technique for example).

Just cleared vault (Mandor was the hardest thing in there and he was a pushover - swapped in blade of Chaos for him). No interesting items though.

Will keep scumming bottom of AM Cave for a little while then dive through Angband to about lvl 50 to see if the random quest monsters drop anything useful.

Dead 5 minutes later to Iron Lich who went fire happy...... Was careless though - didn't quake or blink..... Now I know why Zerks keep annoying me....
