Humans are much worse than hobbits. Especially for a generalist. Especially at the beggining where starting bonuses of hobbits shine and when throwing is so important.

The Blink Away spell is quite treacherous. More than one time it blinked me towards a monster instead of away. In particular the last three blinks were two towards, and one away, but adjacant to another pack of monsters. And then the blink run away, just as arrows, spell points and most of phase door scrolls... And I must have been tired...

Well, as to jack of all trade humans, if you plan on using something like melee and devices, for instance, you'll have a hard time finding any race particularly better. Of course, if you're not terribly concerned with melee, hobbit or elf are better (aside from the hp).

Just for the record, even if that combo is sub-100, if will have a pretty awful score (score is based linearlly on skills, power exponentially).

Also, humans have a cost modifier of 10 on all skills, which is probably better for a Jack than other races which will have some better, some worse.

Honestly, aside from learning what the various skills do, I don't really see the appeal of playing a character like this. Of course, I don't have too...

I have the policy that I only use things I identified by using. And the scrolls of Teleport just avoided me. The exception is Phase Door that I buy before the first trip down.

This is an ancient plot to make Leon to switch to some other skill penalties, than the current ones. I just like exploiting holes in systems and, unfortunately, the holes in the current S system provoke a boring gameplay. So a change would be so welcome... :)
