No armors of resistance until I went into the orc cave, when I found a Resistance armor, an armor of Elvenkind, and a Defender sabre. Resistance armor covered Chaos, so I took out the Logrus master. Then, despite only being level 24 I went after Sting and cleared out the whole Vault...only scary moment was when a Dread double nether bolted me...200 damage in one round, fortunately I had potion of Healing. Also left the Vault with a robe of Permanence (!). Went into the Tower quest next, it was surprisingly profitable as I encountered "It" and it dropped the chain mail of Arvedui....

Hope I can find some more Mithril Shots soon :)

Still progressing well...found a ring of Damage (+11) which boosted Sting's power, then fought Hagen and Grendel on the same level...Hagen dropped his spear, and Grendel dropped a randart long bow of speed that was too good to pass up :)

Went into Angband and had my Ring Mail of Resistance (with resist chaos) at the ready in case of Gachapin, but Alberich showed up instead and was easily slain. However, that armor will be useful in the cloning pits...

Entered at clvl 30, right after my last dump...the earliest I've ever entered the pits... Top enemies and "It"s went down, then a Colour out of space showed up and wreaked havoc on my stats. Fortunately, after finally hunting it down and killing it, it dropped a Mushroom of Restoring :)

Bokrugs and Jurts went down easily, then a Staff of Speed helped me bring down the Father Dagons...they summoned a few things, but nothing earth-shattering. Then had the pleasure of killing off the Queen ants (and her thousands of followers), and trying to kill the Gachapins (they're usually the most annoying things in there)...with me having to cast Resist Fire over and over... Finally got all the clones dead, then I rested in where the Gachapins were while the stray 7-headed hydras breathed gas all over the fire ants :)

My higher-risk earlier entry into the cloning pits seems to have given me a higher reward though, I took EIGHT artifacts back from the pits...in fact, Colannon and the randart set of cesti were good enough to wear immediately! Oh...the randart gloves activate for mass genocide (!)...and I've got two activated teleports...Colannon, and my randart long bow :)

Was a very long Cloning Pits adventure though...3 levels for a High-Elf...

Went in to Angband, found a scroll of Acquirement on the way down, so I recalled and went to the dragon's lair to use it...it produced a Dwarven Pick of Digging :( But just lying around, very close to it was the Palantir of Westernesse :)

Finally got to dlvl 38, was ready for Jack of Shadows but Quaker showed up instead. Then on dlvl 39, Ishikawa Goemon, Scylla and M. Bison all showed up and were beaten. Ishikawa dropped Zantetsuken, but resistance and CON issues keep it put away for a while. Found another randart armor of speed (+2), this one with resist chaos, so it's my new backup armor :)

Oh...also found my first ring of Speed on angband dlvl 39, but it was (-10) :(

Just about set to enter the Old Castle quest.

Jack of Shadows was summoned on dlvl 41 of Angband...took about an hour of play to kill him, almost gave up but kept at it and he finally went down to my rods of ___ balls (and hand-to-hand weapons when within range). Didn't leave much useful behind, though...

Went back on a tour of the towns like usual, and found the randart Jo Staff "Lunatic" which had +2 attacks and resist chaos in the Outpost black market...dual-wielded it and Sting for a while until I found Thorin...the acid immunity, resist chaos and +4 STR/CON were too good to pass up.

Ventured down to dlvl 46 of the castle...found Taratol (almost wielded it, but wanted to keep the damage respectable)...then I encountered a Mature bronze dragon pit...got a randart Gold Dragon scale mail, a ring of Lordly Protection (really helpful!) and an Amulet of Anti-Magic.

This quest should be a bit easier on the arrows than the cloning pits were...went into the cloning pits with 118 arrows and ended up with 10! Acid immunity will help though :)

Early on, a Vampire Lord curse hit my Arvedui armor and decided that I attract demons...fortunately, it only went off once and summoned a bunch of gargoyles (easy). Nothing else too nasty happened until I tried fighting the Fallen angel...hit it a couple of times, it cast Globe of Invulnerability :( Then it summoned a bunch of Byakhees...teleported out of there, eventually killing the Angel when it caught up with me. Went to fight the Byakhees, which summoned a Greater Balrog, then it summoned some random W's and L's and got me to teleport out of there to the other side with the titans. Killed the undead at the top and then the titans came after me. Lessers were a piece of cake...the Greaters caused quite a bit more trouble as I dug into the healing, but they went down eventually. Then, it was time to kill off the Greater Balrog and clean up the remaining mess of demons and undead...drew them into the top left area with the items, which is about as close to an anti-summoning corridor as you can get :) Once they were destroyed, it was just the Raal's Tomes of Destruction and a couple random enemies and it was all clear.

Found a couple of randarts that weren't too great, Frakir (alright but not worth removing Lordly Protection or Speed for), and the Torque of Boromir. With the Sling of Buckland, resistance is pretty much covered now...all I need to find is an amulet of Reflection :)

Went to dlvl 58 of the castle once, the Palantir saw THIRTEEN uniques. Shudde M'ell, Saruman, Raou the Conqueror, Ulik the Troll, Giganto, Bull Gates and Bill the Stone Troll all were killed...Habu the Champion of Chaos (who killed my Sorcery High-Mage!) nearly destroyed me...fortunately I was able to teleport away (he has a nasty habit of following teleports) and then recall.

Next time I saw Habu was at dlvl 60 of the castle...was fortunate enough to find staffs of Healing, Holiness and Mana Storm all on that level...with them, I had a much easier time avenging my previous character's death...

Cleared the Arena up to Shambler...farthest I've ever been in the Arena (although the last two fights took me below 100 HP both times)...a little scared of mana storms, so the Black reaver will have to wait a while...

Still going strong. Layzark the Emperor finally went down on the third attempt...first two tries there were other uniques on the same level, some I managed to defeat but was eventually forced to flee. The third time, it was just Layzark and I managed to defeat her that time...my staff of Healing had just enough charges left, the next time I tried a recharge it blew up :(

Angband's dlvl 62 quest was Bleys, who I had to fight while dodging other hard enemies...Yig, Father of Serpents was also on that level. Tried fighting him but he was quite tough...recalled with a scroll of Artifact Creation though :)

The Dragon Helm before Artifact Creation: [8, +23] with resist blindness, nether, chaos.

After using it on dlvl 65 of castle: [8, +24] with +4 to STR, CON, stealth, searching, and resist blindness, shards, nether, and chaos.

Then went into the dragon's lair again and found quite a few artifacts including the randart I'm currently using as a second weapon...speed up to +14 now.

A better cloak would be nice though... :)

Found Werewindle on my next trip into Angband, which was a large upgrade over Sting. With my Vampiric second weapon, and the chaotic Werewindle occasionally acting like a Vampiric weapon, it provided a lot of staying power against most enemies...Keepers of Secrets and Lords of Change are still quite hard though as they do massive damage, and summon, and my Vampiric weapons don't drain life from them.

Ventured deep into the Dragon's Lair...most of the early Great Wyrms in there are a breeze now. The more advanced Great Wyrms are quite a bit more difficult, and I didn't have levitation so it was harder to move. A lot of unique dragons went down too...saw Tiamat for the first time on dlvl 68, couldn't defeat her that time, but was able to beat her on the next attempt on dlvl 70, she dropped several artifacts...none of which I really want to use yet though...

Hopefully I can find a better ring of Speed soon. Tend to find staffs of Speed fairly regularly now though... :)

Then I dove deeper into Angband...on dlvl 74, found a very large spiral-like vault...Hela, Queen of the Dead fell, but not before summoning the Witch-King of Angmar...he summoned a couple of Great Wyrms of Many Colours but they all managed to die after Werewindle caused a bit of an earthquake and kept most of the other enemies away. Took on Cerberus next, set up anti-summoning corridors, resist fire spell and staff of Speed use over and over, along with repeated Cure Light Wounds spell use after low HP required a teleport, finally was too much for Cerberus in the end. After defeating a level 94 unique...could be ready to do the dlvl 76 quest soon...

Well, drew Richard Wong for the dlvl 76 quest...no mushrooms of Restoring made for some bad times...he dropped me to clvl 47 and my blows/round was dropping so I got out with teleport level. Oh well.

Continued deeper into Angband...found some more good artifacts on dlvl 78. Then, quickly found ring of Speed (+8) and then (+9)...then on dlvl 80 found the Golden Crown of Amber which increases my speed even more, as well as activate to heal 700 HP...AC is much lower, unfortunately :(

Drank potions of New Life to try and make myself fit in with my new equipment...DEX now maxes at 18/110 and CON at 18/130, so a few potions should put both at 18/***...
