This is one of the things most of us have been through. Master mystics and grand master mystics can knock you out in melee. Their hits stun. Many stunning hits in a row cause 'Heavy Stun' and furthermore hits will cause you being 'Knocked out'. It is basically very close to a 100% death sentence.

Very rare property of 'Resist Stunning' will disable this. Yet, (grand) master mystics remain very dangerous opponents because they summon animals. In 4.2.1 Summon animals get them such lovely buddies like Spiders of Gorgoroth, Dracolisks and Werewolves of Sauron.

Better just not never engage master mystics. Those buggers are quite easily awoken, so it usually needs Teleport Other or Destruction.
