Can't really melee much (run away from Cave Spiders...) And can't get a bow to start, just a whip. If I can hit, and I mostly can't, I do 3 damage for 2 attacks per round. I took detect life to navigate the forest, scrounge for treasure, engage cautiously, run away a lot. Wandered to the next town and am stair-scumming the level 4 section that I passed through to get there.

Now I have Lightning Spark, a very weak and not super-cheap at this level offensive spell. So I'm still picking my battles. Not sure how to accelerate my development, maybe dive some deeper forests and hope to find some good loot in the trees?
