I got stuck there for a while when I started, but after a couple dozen runs I got used to drawing enemies back and predicting their movements (especially archers) to corner them. It just takes time and practice.

With point blank shot you can use archery just like melee, so try to pull enemies back into long corridors where you get a chance to shoot them before they get to you.
