After numerous retries since my late best attempt (Chris$oul 9000C), time to bring out Chris$oul 9000T (20th Compo 168 attempt!). I think this might have a good start given that I had just bought a Wand of Frost Bolts (7 charges) {75% off} this early on.

The story:
Played all the way since the 4 min mark. Now, it's the 4 hour mark...and I'm at clvl 27. Completed the first three Angband quests up to and including the "3rd one" and several town quests. Man, the pacing was a lot slower than what I'd be accustomed to. It took me forever to get my melee damage above 100. At least, my AC is a respectable number.
