Apparently the quests available are "all the important ones". I would say that I prefer the "full game" mode more, but this is a pretty cool option if you get easily distracted (like me) and can't help Exploring All The Things.

Some snags:

1) In the midgame, if you run out of a certain type of consumable, you can generally teleport to all the different towns in Normal Mode and chances are OK that they'll have restocked what you need. You only get one set of stores in Lite Town, so I guess short of buyouts you're out of luck.

2) I really like the Castle and Giant's Hall in the midgame since they offer good stuff at sort of lower risk than Angband for melee dudes (esp giants hall has a lot of high XP monsters that come in small groups). I'm stuck with Angband here.

3) The Lite Town layout is wayyyyyy easier to get stuff done in than any of the other towns. I love that part.

4) If you somehow get mutated early, Lite Town has the Cure Mutation service that only Zul has in the normal game. I imagine that would be pretty useful to e.g. a chaos warrior :) but not many other character types.

Debo - thanks for the info on lite town. I tried it briefly but I prefer the advantages of having the Castle for example.
