The Raal's did tag me when I thought he couldn't busting me down to 50% health. This was my mad dash for not one, not two, but three unidentified potions. And only a single -TeleportOther was annoying!

@Hugo: Yes, AC is deliberately low. This class will be very powerful in the end, so getting there needs to be more challenging. Your AC will improve with experience or with essences of AC, but those are rather rare. Defenders, Holy Avengers and certain artifacts have them, but good luck finding any early on. That's why I had to run from Grendel!

Quick update: I finally found a Trump weapon for some nexus resistance. Upon recalling, the town stocked another trump with random confusion resist! A couple of branded weapons to boot, and I am getting close to an elemental brand (I think it needs 7).

I highly recommend paying the 2k to teleport around to all the towns every so often (Try doing it just before, and then just after each level up, though you can do it a bit more often at this point in the game). Be sure to check both the armory and the temple, as well as the obvious BM. I have passed on a couple of order weapons, though. At 80 to 90k, they are just too expensive just now.

Self Knowledge revealed 18/80 intrinsic Dex, so I need to max it for my last attack. But 112% life so I won't be shuffling with this guy :)

One thing I was noticing with this build is that it takes a long time to get meaningful slays. And it needs to be this way, or else you will just have all slays as a Death Scythe too easily.

Let's try a change.

First of all, I downgraded the Poleaxe to a 2d8 Battle Axe.
Second, I made the number of slay essences required for the slay dependent on your form. As a broken death sword, a single essence will generally give you the slay. But, as you evolve, it requires more and more essences to get the bonus. The goal is that good, meaningful slays should be achievable in each form, but that you will probably lose them upon evolution.

For example, I have 9 essences of Slay Evil. In my current form, I need 8 essences for the ability (And Death Swords only need 4). But, when I evolve into a Blade of Chaos, I will need 16 essences, which I may or may not have by that point. And the Death Scythe will need 32.

Of course, the exact numbers to use will require some tweaking as I don't really have a strong feel for just how many slay evil weapons one finds in a typical game.

I'm slightly more powerful than I was prior to this change, but not much (I got a lucky +1d for a level up reward).

Gamble shop is just an overpriced weapon. Its at least good, but might be excellent or even special. But, at 150k gp, its not a good gamble IMO.

Anyway, the Cloning Pits were rather tough. I learned that 2 Grendels at once is life threatening (up to 300hp damage!) and that Queen Ants really, really ... REALLY ... suck. Well, their exploding kin are the main problem, destroying all the trees.

But the worst was a Death Mold. Ugggggggh ... Disenchantment is awful for this build! I left it for last, hasted up, and went in with melee, my only option. It managed to disenchant *me*, that bastard. Snagged a slay evil essence, 4 slaying essences and a couple attack essences, and god knows what else. But it had to be killed!

Looks like I never will get that 5th attack :(
