I guess it's really because I don't want to squelch mattocks, just in case some strange situation happens where I'd want to dig. I'm squelching weapons except autotinscribed chaos blades, so that leaves a shovel.

I'll need to post a death dump. Another inexplicable avoidable death. Somehow I ran into a lit room and died to a ringwraith. I guess the dark W was invisible to my aging eyes.
