My first-ever Unangband character. He's scraped with death a few times, so I'm just lurking around level 4 till something happens...Just recently found that flail of flame (from Bill Ferny) and it seems to be a good replacement for the regular old broad sword I was using...

I killed off Smeagol, and he provided me with a shiny short sword...It gives me 3 blows/round, so I switched to that and pawned my flail. I'm now lurking around level 6, considering moving to 7...Anyhoo, I hope to get to clvl 15 soon, then I'll descend to level 10.

Woo! I found a {special} dagger. I'm hoping that's a good thing ;) I've moved on to level 7, and got a lucky level feeling. I better not screw this up.

Yes! I found my very first artifact! (Ever...In any variant) I'm up to level 15...I was doing good at level 7, but a group of May Flys forced me to recall...Anyhoo, I'm not sure if I should be using this Dethanc thing...hm...

On 25.11.2002 12:16 andrewdoull@hotmail.com wrote:
If you get as many blows with the small sword, you should wield that instead of the dagger, as you'll do more damage per round. Try out Dethanc's activation to see if it is useful however.

Also look up the in game help for instructions on how to use your belt slot (Under the wield command).

Well, there were no words of recall scrolls in the store, so I decided to wait. I thought I would just rest for a few thousand turns, but a bunch of hobbit revellers just had to come along....I killed over 80 of them and made 2000 gold. Hey, it wasn't my goal to town scum...All I want is a friggin WOR!!! I don't feel like walking all the way back down to level 7. Anway, Dethanc gives me 5 blows per round, compared to the sword's 3. I checked the help file, the belt feature is a nice idea! I have the short sword in the belt slot and Dethanc as my main weapon. I would wield both, but I'm using the sword/shiled style thing. Oh yeah, and Dethanc's activation is quite nice :) Although quite the waiting time bewtween activations....Oh well, guess I'm not getting a WOR. Might as well start walking.

Okay...I've gotten some new stuff since last update, but I forgot to make a dump last night and thus forgotten everything I did. Oh well. I did gain 4 levels though :)

Now I remember. I'm out of ID scrolls, of any kind.... (As you can see from my cramped inventory...)

Um...After a few days of not playing, I fired up Unangband again and noticed that my player name was "Groin" instead of "Gorin". I changed the name back without thinking, and now Gorin seems to be gone. Forever. The save file (still called "groin") loads a level 6 character. I have no idea what happened. Sniffle. Yep, he's gone for good. Figures as much, this was my best character in any *band....

False alarm! All rejoice, I had loaded an older version of Unangband by accident. Gorin's okay. And still out of ID scrolls.

If you need the money, you can pretty much sell any armour that is pseudo id'ed as {good} or {very good} without breaking into a sweat, and probably any weapon similiarly id'ed. See the dump of Talerang for an explaination.

Been a while since I last played. I got in trouble with some novice shamen, and after killing them fell through a trap door to level 15, where I was immediately assaulted by Dark Hounds...This is as deep as I've ever been, I think...No good new items cept the RoP +11...I got another but haven't IDed it yet.

Well, I've gained a level or 2, and I killed the dunleding spy for the nazgul guy, and got the heard boots "Dimlar". Can't locate an *ID* for em though :( Anyhoo, nothing too spectacular. Just trudging back down to level 16.

Okay, it's been a while...I've gained three levels, and a few new items, but no artifacts T_T I'm currently lurking warily around level 20 with a pack full of UN-IDed items and slow -2...Oh well...

Got an artifact, Feanin, but need *id*...Stuck in town with only one WoR. :(

Haven't played in a loooong time. Anyhoo, too much acid barraging lowered my AC from 110 to 87. I bought some new stuff and got it back to 94. 'Frostbite' has come in very handy. The whole sensing natural monsters thing rocks.

On 9.4.2003 12:42 andrewdoull@hotmail.com wrote:
Upgrade to the next version (Unangband 0.5.4) and you should have much less a problem with acid, as acid clouds will be a lot less frequent... and the sensing natural monsters is stolen from ToME ;)
